Dreading being alone on New years Eve? Day #9

Are you dreading being alone on New years Eve? You don't have any plans in the next few days? Hey why don't you turn your New Year's experience around by creating your own fun cool celebration?!?!?!?

I have 3 exciting ideas below. And I have tried all of them in the past and will DEFINITELY always continue to do it again!!!

even though i'm a big time social person, I totally loooove being alone!

i thought i would share . Hope this helps!

this is NOT how i feel. why should YOU? being alone doesn't have to be sad.

  1. Try something new! an interest or a hobby you always dreamt about!!! Find a meet-up group or an art, dance, spanish, gym or cooking class that will inspire you. Just anything. Register and join in 2015! i did! it was so hard but i did it.  My dance class!
 2. Go out to the movies alone. You don't have to plan or coordinate with others. pick that movie that you've been dying to see. Dress up! look nice. sit in the backof the theatre alone, slouch in the chair and enjoy the film! i looove this feeling, if you're scared to go alone, that's ok. this will push you out of your comfort zone and learn to enjoy your own company. if you don't like being with yourself, why would others enjoy being with you? think about it

3. travel alone! choose a place you have always wanted to visit. somewhere that will touch to your soul. Choose a cottage where you can ride horses, ski, hike, meditate. book the flight, rent a car. whatever. just trust me, when i leave the comfort of my condo and travel alone it pushes me to really get to know me. i do it ALLL the time.

Remember, you're never really alone. The Lord is always by your side.

John 10:30 says "I and the Father are one.”

You can do it!

Beat the Holiday Blues Day # 7 "Arise, for it is your duty, Be strong and brave and do it".

This week I was nervous about my accomplishing certain things in my future. There's things I want to do but was procrastinating. To be honest I'm still struggling a teenie weenie bit but this bible verse and Nike just pushed me. Funny how the bible and Nike have so much in common!!! lol!!! i love that the Lord is so practical with me. He makes my like so simple.

Ezra 10:4  says "Arise, for it is your duty, and we are with you. Be strong and brave and do it".

Nike says"Just do it". Get off your azz and follow the words in the pic above. Why don't you give it a shot? Be strong, be brave and do it. That's what  intend to to this week and I'm going to take some large leaps! I already took some huge risks today and feel brave.

I am strong, I am courageous, I am smart, I am brave, I am a warrior oh and I'm cute too!

Beat the Holiday Blues Day #4

Yeah!  today is Day 4 of beat the blues this holiday!!!! See posts below for previous days

Plan Plan Plan. Make sure you don't over book by double booking yourself for festive invites, office parties, family dinners, or social gatherings!

Use your smart phone, journal or calendar to mark it down and don't try to over please people. If you can't make an event RSVP in a timely fashion not to disappoint the host.

BLUE BUSTER TIP#3:

i suffer from insomnia! How do i get rest during the holidays? HEEEEELP!!

Try to figure out what causes of your insomnia.
  • Are you stressed? depressed? emotionally depleted?
  • Have you recently gone through drama?
  • Are you taking any meds that might be affecting your sleep?
  • any health issues?
  • Is your sleep environment quiet and comfortable?
  • how's your caffeine intake? high?
Psalm 3:5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

The holidays can be so fun and festive yet kinda stressful and give us the blues. it feels kinda scrooge-ish to say we sometimes secretly dread the holiday season but for many this is a reality. Over the next 10 days I'm going to share with you 10 secret ways to BEAT the BLAH BLUES this holiday season. it's easy to get caught up in the hussle and bussle but we can overcome those stressful days.

BLUE BUSTER TIP#2:

Take time to relax. Working overtime or studying for school exams can be veerrrryyy overwhelming. I know saying "oh just relax and take time for yourself" is way easier said than done. But honestly this is a MUST over the holiday season.

look familiar? is this you?

Promise yourself to log off the computer today for 30 minutes. Yup, just 30 mins, put your phone down! Give these ideas a try:

  • find pretty christmas trees on display in your neighbourhood and gaze at it while you sip a coffee or tea and think of nothing except the bright lights and admire the ornaments
  •  Just look up at the stars tonight with your hot cocoa, take a deep breath and relax.
  • invite a friend who you promised to "do coffee with" and just never found the time. Now's your chance. 30 minutes! simple!
  • or try to take a hot bath while reading a novel tonight, light some candles. Just do it. you deserve it

This Lady in BLUE beats the holiday BLUES DAY#1

The holidays can be so fun and festive yet kinda stressful and give us the blues.

I'm wearing blue and not feeling blue! you can too!
it feels kinda scrooge-ish to say we sometimes secretly dread the holiday season but for many this is a reality.

Over the next 10 days I'm going to share with you 10 secret ways to BEAT the BLAH BLUES this holiday season.

it's easy to get caught up in the hussle and bussle but we can overcome those stressful days.

BLUE BUSTER TIP#1:

"I haven't started my shopping and it seems like the rest of the world is almost done!!! I feel overwhelmed! i feel so disorganized!

TIP: Don't stress yourself out! calm down and let's keep this simple. Perhaps buy for only children this year and purchase everyone else a starbucks, movie or gas gift card.  Place the gift card inside a Christmas card and write a sweet note: ‘Enjoy movie night! You deserve it!'" Make it thoughtful by putting a sparkly bow on the envelope or by using a fun gift bag. Hey, why not include a tiny token gift with the gift card a like key chain with the gas card, a box of chocolate-covered espresso beans with the Starbucks card or a tin can of Christmas colored popcorn with the movie card!

  • Your mind says "but that idea sucks? people will think I'm so boring and thoughtless
  • Reality is "this idea is simple, you are thoughtful and this is achievable".
  • Done! Simple Solution. Shopping is done

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. ~Confucius

Here's an awesome easy link to get your giftcards easy and quick! and the funds go towards a great cause

Stay tuned tomorrow for another holiday blue buster, until then just relax and breathe.

Our "Thinner" Therapeutic Thanksgiving...

you know that Bill Withers song..

Just the two of us, we can make it if we try
Just the two of us, just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us, you and I

It was a thinner thanksgiving, not a big attendee list, a rather thin one... Just the 2 of us...me and my son. it was scary at first because I thought I wasn't enough. How can a traditional Thanksgiving family festivity be just the 2 of us? then i reflected...Hmmmm....i AM enough! i'm his mom and he's my travel partner in crime. We've done Hollywood we can do it again. So we took off to a secret weekend getaway in Burlington where we could do outdoorsy things and be away from all the city drama hussle and bussle. My city boy was so at peace. It was beautiful, peaceful, therapeutic.

We baked, yes, yes I baked, please stop gasping and rolling your eyes!!! We went to a nice fancy dinner, went to the farm a tractor ride, apple picking, a morning walk through nature and talked about life.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

we ate more than picked

Terehz used the words harvesty , livestalky, grains and pioneer-ish to describe thanksgiving. too funny!

VIP seating in the tractor, i was wearing stilettos, oh geez!
yes, my city boy does hard labour...eh hem, sometimes
we walked in the park and we talked about 3 things we are thankful for. We came up with 1) God... 2) each other (we are a team) and the condo (it keeps us safe). I asked Terehz why did he put God first on the list? He said because God has swag,  a long beard and does miracles. I laughed!! Now that's a good one. Terehz is sooo honest. I love his humour

Oh btw, we made a yummy recipe with the delicious apples we picked! you gotta try it out! It's super easy. Here's the link http://wenderly.com/2010/10/06/brown-sugar-cinnamon-baked-apples/...

I AM eeeee-nough for my baby boy. I am thankful that I have the time and the means to make this happen.

our stunning view, morning walk

don't look back but remember & embrace to move forward....

Today is OCT 1st , 2014!!!! yayayaya. woooohooo, yessss, oh ya!

There's A poem written down below by Odiah. His poem reflects how i feel.

What do i feel? lots!!! sometimes a lil too much. but i love that about myself.

ok so, getting to the point, i wanna focus on the fact that after a tough painful, confusing annoying issue, You can manage negative emotions. Its something we must do to stay in alignment, balance and peace. inner peace and peace with others. oh hey btw, click below for a link to a helpful book that i totally recommend by Joyce Meyer.

http://www.joycemeyer.org/Content/Downloads/LivingBeyondYourFeelings_Excerpt.pdf

anyways, Oct 1st, 2012, two yrs ago marks the day that my new life started.  My story about Oct 1st was brutal. i should have written a book. i guess i could have made a bit of money lol! but i'll stick to my blog.

through the hellish ordeal i remained strong about the hurtful event. I believe i handled it with class and integrity. Still today, i try to never keep those feelings of resent and revenge in my heart. its unproductive. I push forward and stay on my game. That's what got me through that nightmare. it was alot of hard work and i made some mistakes but overall kept things on target.

How do u do that? ??  how do u have a more balanced, more productive, fulfilling life after it throws you a freakin 100km/hr curve ball?  May i suggest my personal Karen Carrington hot tips?

Good diet, daily exercise, stay close with friends, watch your health,  look fab even when u don't feel like it, donate to charities and join social fun groups. trust me. i know its annoying to join an awkward group with strangers but just try it will ya? meeting new like- minded is so awesome and u never know what or who u can come across. New dynamics! Just push, take risks, let go and don't sway or swerve. stay straight and stay strong.

ok, Private moment thought......I sat on an island in the pic below and cried to the Lord for an answer. The Lord Almighty literally told me to walk in a direction and search. His voice was so clear and concise that day.

awesome pose huh. i should be a calendar girl. so exotic and beachy looking. lol

I obediently listened. I walked slowly and I stumbled on a letter from a dishonest, broken person and that letter was the answer, the key that changed my life. What a revelation. A miracle, a non explainable miracle. Thank you Lord for reaching out and placing your wise hand on my blind face and showing me the way, the light, the truth.

My friends, when you're lost and seeking the truth, ask the Lord to show you the way. He will never steer you wrong. He loves his children and wants us to prosper.

John 8:12 says: ,Jesus said to the people, “I am the Light of the world. So if you follow me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will shine in your path.”

Liberated, I'm free from you
Liberated, bondage is through
Liberated, I'll speak my view
Liberated, life to pursue

Oh come and hear the news
I am now free to choose
There is no more [emotional] abuse
Gone are the loathsome blues

An end to oppression
Freedom of expression
There'll be no concession
Gone is the depression

Because I'm
Liberated, I'm free of you
Liberated, bondage is through
Liberated, I'll speak my view
Liberated, life to pursue

Odiah

"9/11 An attack on one is an attack on all." Lord Robertson, NATO Secretary

I wrote this back in April 26, 2007....i thought i would add it to my blog for Sept 11, 2014. Quite fitting...

I remember enjoying my bday back in 2001, then i woke up the next morning and i didn't see the sun. instead, the sky became very dark and the world just stopped. the two towers went down and my heart just dropped. 9/10 was a beautiful day right up until midnite and then 9/11's reality took over the earth's bright light. that year i felt so much sorrow for every victim and hero so i payed my respects by visiting the sacred ground zero. now, 6 yrs later, there's still a darkness on that day. so i try to cherish every moment of my special september 10th birthday. i plan a party and spend time with my family every 9/10 but i always dread the next morning and hope 9/11 will never ever happen again.

I meditated on this bible verse and found it extremely comforting and powerful.

John 16:33 says:

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
With a just God as our guide, let us honor those who have been lost; let us rededicate ourselves to the ideals that define our nation, and let us look to the future with hearts full of hope. May God bless the memory of those we lost, and may God Bless the United States of America. ~Barack Obama, Sept 11, 2011

Keep Calm, it's my Birthday

All I can say is WTHeck?????? Whatta day! it's the day before my big day and I am soooo ready to take on the world. Buuuut, lots of huge challenges tried to weigh me down...auuugh! why today?!?!?. It was theeee worst timing. I was so on edge today and shaky because of this issue I had to face dead on. To be honest, All summer it seems as though relationship, friendship, workplace Politics, national red tape overseas, ex-marital legal crap, emotional breakdowns due to gaining weight (yes 6 annoying pounds, don't roll your eyes, it really bothered me), travel mishaps, and financial strain really shook me up. But I kept on moving forward and counted down the days till my bday. The one day I can celebrate just me. James 1:17 says that the most perfect gift comes from God. The Lord has assisted me  all summer. When I was doubtful,  He believed in me. Now today, He gave me the perfect gift~ peace.

James 1:17

Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same.

And if you know me, you know I disappear and  just DO ME on my bday. I pray, reflect and rejuvenate.

Question? outta curiosity...How do you celebrate your birthday?

Oh guess what!!! today, I'm stuffing my face with cake....i feel free..free from opinions, comments, judgment, awkwardness. or whatever.

shhh..don't tell i bought 2 mini cakes for myself...pure awesomeness

my hard time letting go, but i had to

OMG!!!!!!! i was swimming on the island of coco cay and spotted this gorgeous seashell!!! it was just floating there in the water staring at me as i stared back at it. it was sooo beautiful and shiny. I screamed! it was a beautiful treasure glistening in the sun, a precious shell just unclaimed? why didnt anyone see this? it was huge!!! how could it just be there waiting for me? that's how i feel alot in life....finding a beautiful thing and wondering why it was meant for me? do i deserve it? is it true? will it last?
i'm a mermaid!!!

oh, btw there was a live fish in the shell so i couln't fly over seas back home with it and a local fisherman advised me it should stay in its home natural water. I was sad i couldn't bring it home!!! boooohoooo, seriously?! it was mine! but honestly, it wasn't. just like a lot of things in life i had to let it go.

i slowly walked into the ocean and threw it as far as i could and made a wish while it was in the air. I wished that i could let go of things in life just like that shell. But sometimes that's easier said than done huh. There are things in my past that had really hurt me and it still pains me until today. I cry or just feel numb when i reminisce about some of the things i lost or failed at. but i have grown ALOT over the past few years. in one year, my mom died, i wasn't close to my father or grandmother so i felt detached and lost, my divorce was painful, my son moved away to start his life and i missed him and needed him, my bff died and my new home flooded, i worked 2 jobs and had to rebuild all the pieces...my life spiraled downhill in a pool of loss and pain. i never had to be so strong. EVER!!! my survival tool was to let it all go and let God take over the wheel. It was the only way I made it through. I had to just push through believing that i will see better days and blessings are in my future.

the bible speaks about letting go:

Luke 9:62 "But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

bottom line...there's no looking back if i want to go forward to heaven, let go just like i let the seashell go....there are other new treasures and memories waiting for me in life! i go after my dreams and have faith!

Trust me, anything suffering you face, it will be a blessing for you. I pray for you that you will see brighter days!!! I'm hoping my online very "open" diary will touch someone's heart and my testimony will help them. Thats my desire...

Add this to your work out program !!! lose weight asap!!! the secret is "Heart" conditioning

The secret to weight loss is in the quote below.  If you feel heavy and overweight of stress, burden, hatred, negativity, resent, then try this new workout regimen that helps lose that dead mental weight instantaneously.

wow! this is so so so true!

If we would spend as much time in the gym as we did lifting others up we would be super skinny and buffed! lol! I enjoy helping people with personal growth, giving candid advice all hours of the day. Answering emails giving feedback and offering my perspective on their daily issues or life struggles. But when my life gets soooo busy and hectic it's easy to forget my daily "heart" exercise`and help others. I need to lift people up DAILY. I need to make a conscious effort to give back even when I do not have anything for myself. Sometimes I feel so so so drained, depleted and just kinda beat down. I'm thinking you can relate right? If that's the case, how can I possibly give to others when I too am drowning? Easy!!!! Just give..simple as that...give my money, my time, my my support whatever. Not only when I can but when I can't. That's my goal - Give everyday when i just feel like i can't mentally. Sacrificial Giving is a biblical truth.

Proverbs 3:27 says "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, When it is in the power of thy hand to do it.

ok sooooo my mission was accomplished today. I Increased my tithing and gave a scooter to a kid on the street. (I had an extra one) oh and i was in a total rush but i helped a random confused lady pick out some nail polish at cosmetic up counter. Boy was she lost! but i patiently explained to her that she cannot wear that shade of purple with her pinkiy-ish dress for her bffs wedding! she seemed to appreciate my advice, I'm glad I gave her my time eventhough i soooo had to get going. it was worth it to see her smile and she felt understood.

I'm liking this "heart" workout. I need to sweat and give till it hurts... just like in the gym.

this was a homeless man i got a pic of on my trip to paris. Powerful moment to see his humility. His sign is so simple. French translation "I'm hungry" He sat there with such peace and patience. I had to give my euros, i had to. I need to practice this way more
Lord, you have blessed me so so much, I want to be more like You everyday.

Lord, who am i? What do i do? Why should they choose me? its bio time baby...

Thursday, 10 July 2014

I slipped up ...big time...aw man...

yup, i totally did. i was guilty of not getting some things done that i wanted to accomplish. i'm a veeeeery regimented and consistent person. buuuut I was tired and plain flat out exhausted. Just depleted and zoned out for a few days. why? I wasn't sure so I reset my goals and turned to the Lord for clarity.

yayayyaya  i  got myself a huuuuge action chalk board which maps out my goals. I looove it. Its so clear and i can be creative instead of writing my thoughts on a boring word document in "calibri font" auuugh so boring! i cant stand that font.....meh...so blah...

click here for awesome deals on home office chalkboards

i reached my daily goal! i did it! such an amazing and rewarding feeling. The Lord is a powerful life coach

so anyways,  did u know that white boarding and brainstorming is a biblical truth used back then as a powerful tool for His people to set goals too????

Habakkuk 2:2-3 says:

And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie.If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time.

Remember! for every minute you are negative, hurt, resentful or angry you give up 60 seconds where you could have had of a peace of mind.

forget all the negativity and believe in yourself. Your dreams will come true, you will meet your ultimate goals and you will see a breakthrough...
